THE URBAN STREET LIBRARY

The Urban Street Library is part of Arkitek KDI's campaign to spread awareness on literacy and cultivate a culture of reading regardless of time and place by providing a free literary experience for the members of the public. The project's mission is to encourage reading, sharing and community spirit through a small-scale urban intervention in engaging public spaces of Kuching.

After being announced as the 1st Runner-Up, I completed the construction drawings with the guidance and approval of respectively assigned AKDI coordinating architects. My team and I were responsible to construct and assemble our own designs according to the construction drawings approved by AKDI. The installation was exhibited for a period of one month at The Old Courthouse, Kuching and another two months at Sarawak's largest shopping mall, Vivacity Megamall.
